thrown -in a good way

Monday I spent making groups for next term and working on details of a hand in as we had something due on Monday and there are always issues. Today I had a bunch of meetings and was thrown into one that the Dean couldn't go to. We had a few hours of TA meetings and so I had to leave the other meeting early to get to the TA meetings. I explained to my TAs (who were all waiting in the room when I arrived) that I had just been thrown into the meeting and one of them said. "Isn't that how they solve all problems- throw Aphra at it?". He has a point!
