Lake Ontario Park baptism and picnic

Tuscan Sausage pasta from earlier this week. Easy to make- very tasty though I did not include the garlic or olives.

On Friday we did filming for September. First time using a teleprompter.

Today was baptism and picnic at Lake Ontario Park. It turned out to be a beautiful day for it.

Rescue ship nearby.

cherry sauce

The lillies seem to be doing well:

But one of these bushes is starting to have some dead parts

 Grilled chicken with cherry sauce

I was supposed to pit the cherries and then skewer them whole but I couldn't figure out how to pit them without taking them apart so I halved them and that seemed to work out.

It was good!

bunnies everywhere

When I was walking to Loblaws I stopped on Palace Road as there was a bunny in the grass and I didn't want to scare it into traffic. There was a lady sitting on the bench right where I stopped and she was uncertain as to why I had stopped. I had to explain a few times that there was a rabbit a mere meter away from her. She couldn't see it at all. Good camouflage dude! If only it fooled predators as well as it fooled her!

I was just about to go into my back yard and I see there is a bunny there as well. I haven't mown my lawn recently so there are lots of yummy things there for bunnies. With the heat killing the front lawn, I thought leaving the back as long as I can unmown helps the bunnies and birds.

bird versus moth

I was about to go to bed and Kassie the bird started freaking out. I go in the front room and switch the lights on. Can't figure out what the problem is. Then I see a moth fly around the lights and fall directly into Kassie's cage. She is terrified! We wait in horror for the moth to come back up but nothing happens. Figuring the moth is under the pot, i lift the pot up, nothing. Where did the moth go? Kassie is frozen in fear. Then I realize that the moth is on the side of the pot. So I put the whole pot outside, saving Kassie. However, she still thinks the moth is in her cage and is staring at the ground. Hopefully, she will get some sleep tonight and not be terrorized by the imaginary moth. Don't some birds eat moths? Not this one.

cleaning bee

I am trying to get a lot of cleaning done today but I am cleaning parts here and there so I don't know if the whole will get done. I have cleaned my desk and one corner of James' room. We'll see if everything comes together by the end of the weekend.

blooms

They say that Kingston has entered drought level 1. Thanks to my mother weeding the backyard, it has started blooming. There was a BUNNY in the backyard in the evening (I accidentally hit caps lock but it seemed to fit). He seemed to appreciate that I have not mown the lawn in a while and was eating my weeds. So cute and inspiring to not mow the lawn.

fire

In the last week or so everything at work went off the rails. Today things started to get better.

Last night after I got home from work, I heard a lot of sirens nearby. Apparently there was an arson fire at one of the nearby apartments. Not much damage done as the fire dept extinguished it very quickly.

From a previous week- chili spiced pork and avocado nectarine salad:

Arugula flatbread and cherry tomato pasta

 Parrot Bay

Charleston Lake

 Grey ratsnake

 Partial pontoon bridge
