fumes

So much work this week as the courses wrap up. I got the rough copy of my taxes done, just need to do it in good. I finally fixed the rest of my 2015 taxes so should get some more money back when they recalculate that which is hopefully correct. We'll see if 2016 is any better.

Rustle is planning a maxsold auction and we are trying to pull it together. It takes a lot longer than you think it should to pull these things together.

I have been up late most nights working so on only 5 hours sleep. Will try to sleep tonight!

100

Bapke posted that today Oma would have been 100. I am not good at remembering dates and birthdays, so it is good that Bapke does this. Here is the picture she posted as a memory:

Last week there was a chicken biryani- it was very good

First time trying figs- I liked them!

The spider that hangs over my desk at work:

 Sicilian chicken tonight:
Those are capers - I had never tried capers before either- liked them as well!

Tomorrow I have a presentation at 8:30am and am being interviewed for a Queen's newspaper at 10am. I got a lot of marks in today but still have a lot more to go!

ups and downs

Gearing up for Friday, and there is still a lot to do. I think I was more organized last year but I have done this so many times, I am less worried every year.

James woke up an hour early this morning, accidentally. It didn't mean he was ready to go any earlier though.

The tryouts aren't over yet, but the coach wants to sign James before the end, so he is quite pleased.

They tied with Quinte tonight in the exhib game.

The P20 exam was today, so that will be wrapping up soon.

Made Japanese pork burgers, that were really good. I made pickled radishes to go with it but they still tasted like radishes so I left them off. The Pickling juice was in the slaw, which was much better than I thought considering it was only baby bok choy and carrots, but it really worked.

The sauce on the burger was sour cream with togarashi

Spring

Today the weather was nice enough to go without a hat or mitts. I saw a bird of prey in the neighbourhood swooping low. Maybe there are more bunnies than I know. Saw a heron flying. April  the giraffe had her baby. So cute. Trying to do some cleaning when not distracted by baby girafflings. Some screen caps from the feeds + official first photo from the park

Good Friday

This week was also very busy, as I expect next week to be, but after that hopefully things will get better.
I spent some time on Tuesday on the phone to a very nice lady from revenue canada and found many things wrong with the 2015 tax filing, so I have to redo that. It all started as there were problems with my t4 and it had to be reissued.
Had some more chefs plate meals:

The turkey and ramen noodles was ok but not great. It was interesting to put together but it cooled too quickly and didn't have the best taste.
The taquitos on the other hand were very good
 the filling was smashed beans
 with tomatoes on top
then rolled up and put in the oven with cheese on top
red cabbage and apple slaw and guacamole
 final plate
Today I went to Kim's church for their 2pm service and then to next for their 8pm. Next had their prayer labyrinth out. I had never done that before but it was an amazing experience!

Long week

The past week was very busy.
Monday I had interviews late into the evening.
Tuesday was James' hockey banquet.
Wednesday was Karen's retirement party.
Thursday was parent teacher interviews. In this case you need to sign up for 6 minute meetings with the teachers but it went sideways pretty quickly, I don't think I had one meeting on time.
Friday was a project showcase and Kim came over.
Saturday I tried to catch up.
Sunday was Rustle and we had a budget meeting, which I wouldn't consider fun, but probably was successful.
