2 days of meatballs and 2 locked doors

Yesterday was a meal with turkey meatballs and today was beef. The turkey had way less grease than the beef. The beef meatballs were very spicy and irritated my stomach but still good!

James managed to lock himself out of his bathroom but that was easy enough to break into with a tool. Then on the same day the side door mechanism broke so the side door is out of commission until the locksmith arrives.

James' pace

James had a physio appointment after his work today and then stopped by my office so we could walk home together. The only issue is that his pace is about twice as much as my pace and my phone considered it an "afternoon run". I lasted only 10 minutes before I overheated and had to get James to stop. My walking may be healthy but my running is not up to speed!

A bad night

Last night I think a racoon woke me around 1:30am and I couldn't get back to sleep. I think it may have woken my neighbour who normally goes to bed at 8pm as she was up washing dishes. The neighbour on the other side was playing the piano so a bunch of us were up late/early depending on how you count.

Yesterday I made a chef's plate that was more simple than usual. Flatbread with pesto and zucchini and cheese with some spinach and arugula on top. My stomach seemed pretty irritated by the relatively plain meal. It has had problems with pesto in the past so that could be it. A big week this week.

Chalkboard

While my students have become used to my science dresses a delivery guy said he liked my chalkboard dress.

Yesterday I made the ginger peanut turkey stir fry but my burner seemed hotter than usual and that resulted in some burnt bits.

Today my students participated in an engineering training exercise simulation. I was in charge of processing the recording which was huge.

Today I made Gochujang chickpea meal- it was good and didn't burn at all. My burner got its groove back.

has amazon got its groove back?

I ordered shoes for James on Saturday and they arrived on Monday. I don't even have prime, this was their regular delivery.

tomato plant

I went to Kims on Thursday and saw how the baby chickens had become chicken toddlers. Their heads were touching the top of the brooder. They were giant compared to the previous visit!

Spent the day with the babies as well as the adult broods. Kim has her hands full with all the chickens.

She also gave me a tomato plant which I am struggling to keep alive!

It is pretty hot out but I still walked to food basics at lunch today. The breeze was good and it wasn't a bad walk.

a flying day

Today was a most exciting day. We went to Brighton to see my parents and some new Dutch friends. It took a while to get James out of bed and ready to go. The Dutch friends had received a Tesla for their rental car. It was blue- I have only seen white teslas before!

Then to Napanee before the lunch was fully over for James to have a skate. It is really good for him to be on the ice again. He is working at a hockey camp for the next 4 weeks which will be good for him as well.

We had hot dogs for dinner and then James and I went to give the tour of Queen's to the Dutch friends and we left them downtown to have their dinner. James and I walked 8 km. It was quite hot so I had 2 yes 2 cool cans of root beer and watched a midsummer murder. Up early tomorrow for all of us.
