all kind of weather

My phone said at 8am snow would begin. And at 8am it did indeed start to snow but by the time I left the house a few minutes later it was spiky rain. Then as I walked it became rain. Metro was quiet and very efficient. When I left Metro the ground was "crispy" but it was still rain. Then partway through the walk it became ice pellets. By the time I got home I was soaked and needed to change all my clothes. Now it is snowing heavily and I will be staying home for the rest of the day!

cracked feet

I realized that normally every winter I get cracks in my feet and have to wear lots of bandages. Either due to the lack of cold or the lack of walking I have no cracks this year.

I do have to walk for groceries today. The forecast says that snow will start shortly.

meeting day

After getting through all the project approvals, today was meeting day. Lots of meetings.

James has his schedule for Trenton starting Mar 8. Which works out well as he finishes the chemistry course on Mar 4.

We are almost out of juice so I will need to take a trip to the grocery store tomorrow.

project approval day 2

I got all the project approvals out but it was a very long day. I did have a nice meeting with some ladies from Toronto that are really lovely and have been through so much.

I didn't make a chef's plate as we had so many leftovers from other meals to get through.

My day tomorrow is filled with meetings so I had to get all the project emails out today, thus the last evening.

cracking the ice

These last 2 days have been very busy with projects due on Monday and project reviews happening today so I only finished work around midnight.

I did take some time in the day to go out and try to crack ice in the driveway as things were melting. They are freezing again now.

Turmeric turkey curry for dinner.

updated tracking

The package I ordered yesterday arrived! The package from last week arrived in Glenburnie at 11am so there is hope for that one as well.

Lapping tracking

I actually slept well last night, which was good as I had gone through a stint of poor sleeps.

Last week I had ordered an amazon package of supplies, slated to be delivered today. Amazon still lists that as the case but the package still appears to be in Halton Hills. Normally the package will arrive in Glenburnie overnight if it is to be delivered today but I guess we'll see.

However, yesterday James wanted a new charging cord for his apple devices so it was amazon to the rescue again and I placed a second order with the cords (package of 3) and some supplies. Well, that package is now out for delivery- arrived in Glenburnie overnight.

So, this raises questions for me- were the cords prioritized because they would be considered "essential"? Were the cords more readily available and easier to ship? While James will be thrilled with amazon's prioritization policies I am left wondering.

James wants a haircut today. If they aren't too busy I will try as well. I am heading to shoppers this morning and will try to  get some work done on the bathroom. I also have some work email to catch up on.

boxing drama

The chef's plate box arrived today. They didn't explain what the delay was but I suspect it was that all the Tuesday boxes were being delivered on Wed with likely all the Wed boxes and it was just too high of a volume. So today was middle eastern meatballs with potatoes and veggies and a yogurt dill sauce. Very good.

I went to Metro in the morning as James was out of juice and the cans normally were $0.99 there. Now they are $1.69. I only got a few as a price seemed very steep.

As I was walking back home I found one of James' masks. Apparently he put it in his pocket and it fell out. Luckily it hadn't been out long so I popped it in the laundry and it is as good as new. Will be making sure future masks go in his backpack not his pocket.

James signed with Trenton Junior A today for their ultra short season of 8 games.

missing

We ended up getting some snow but not a lot. Maybe not worth cancelling school for.

The Chef's plate box did not appear yesterday. Let's see if it shows up today!

No snow so far

Despite a day of forecasted snow and despite the weather radar indicating it is snowing, it is not snowing. Apparently it is supposed to be a lot as the buses are predicted to be cancelled. So a lot of work to be done by the weather overnight. We'll see in the morning.

bleach

Today I scrubbed the upstairs bathroom in preparation for the repairs that need to be done so that was good. I need to make a trip to Rustle in a little bit. I'm going to walk part of the way with Tab and her dog.
Have a chicken in the slow cooker for when I get back.
Apparently a good % of the cases we had come from Queen's students so noone is going to be happy about that. However, it means that most of the community is pretty safe.

green

I went to Food basics today because they don't have flowers so I figured would be less busy.

I watched the elevation stream and the Rustle and they were both talking about how we are all different and it is important to have the diversity and embrace that to bring unity.

I went for a walk in the afternoon and there were a lot of people walking which was different than usual. We only had one case today so maybe people were feeling better about that.

creative

I went to shoppers today to get some sale toilet paper. I looked carefully at the canadian tire to try to determine if it was open. I did see 1 person go in so I decided to try that as well as I am going to try to fix a couple of small holes in the bathroom ceiling. When I walked in there was a lineup at the cash throughout the store. I was like where did these people come from. When I went to check out myself however, there were no longer any people in line.

I have a lot of plans for today- vacuuming, washing the kitchen floor and cleaning the bathroom to prepare for the repairs. I would also like to get the ironing done. It is difficult to decide where to start- I just need to pick one.

working on yourself

The temperature seems to have dropped a lot overnight.

I started looking through all the summer applications- looks like it will be a good summer!

I treked to Rustle to drop off a cheque, then went by shoppers. It was a nice walk, not as cold as I thought.

Chicken in the slow cooker for dinner.

Timeline

Yesterday evening had a pretty tight timeline. From when I finished work I made dinner in 50 minutes (Miso chicken curry), ate in 20 mins. Left for Sarah's to get her to sign some cheques. Returned with 5 minutes to spare to get to my 7pm meeting of ladies discussing a sermon. They are all from Toronto and COVID is much closer to them as they have either experienced it or had someone close experience it.

James has an offer to go back to hockey but we're not sure if the season is on yet. They are hoping to know by the end of the week.

Today was a day of meetings all day long. Just waiting for the laundry to be done before I crawl into bed.

out with the old agitator

The old agitator is out in the trash today. The new agitator seems to be working out.

I discovered a new song that apparently was a tik tok dance challenge last year but I hadn't heard it until today- it is called "Jerusalema". In watching the dances I was reminded about how dance unites us as people. There were young and old and all different races, all doing the same dance.

I tried to deal with many crises today.

James had a science test today that he said went ok.

Made turkey BBQ pizza for dinner.

bells on

James was up in the night with a tummy ache- he blamed a fruit by the foot snack that he ate before bed. So not much sleep for me.

But went to Loblaws early. It was not too bad. No lineup for self checkout.

At work I was preparing for a a presentation in the evening.

James has a chemistry test tomorrow.

Sunday funday

Today I watched the Elevation service before the Rustle service. Holly was speaking and it was very good- I think I'll want to listen to it again. Rustle was also good though crashed about 15 minutes in. Par for our course.

I took a walk and saw Bob and Carolyn on the way. Shoveled some snow. Waiting for sunshine.

I had a done a reference for a former PM this past week and she let me know she got the job.

Tomorrow I am wrapping up the quizzes that ran last week and working on the project application process. We are also starting our summer hiring. A fun week!

Recovery from busy week

Went to Shoppers to pick up the bread that James likes. It was a bit windy but not too bad. Needed to shovel the driveway. Had to make a lot of meals for James. Tried to clean the house. Made tacos for dinner. Wrote an email to promote our summer jobs. Normally I send that in January but hopefully sending it just before the application is due will still gain good applications. There may be more applications if other summer jobs are not as available.

I am also working on a new project approval process for the course.

Arrival!

The agitator arrived today! And it fit in the machine perfectly. I am now working through the backlog of laundry.

Chef's plate arrived as well, though there was an error with the cilantro package (it was an empty sealed package) and one of the soy sauces had opened so there was a bit of spillage. Impressively the egg made it unscathed even though the box it came in was pretty badly damaged. They must have done training in Egg drops.

I went to the bank and for the first time there was someone at the ATM when I went to drop off the deposit. So that was different. I only had  to wait a few minutes. I also went to the dollar store, which was a bit busier than sometimes but no lineup to get out, so pretty easy to manage.

The travels of the agitator

Today the agitator traveled from Mississauga to Montreal, then to Belleville and now is in Kingston so I am hopeful for it to arrive tomorrow.

This is a good thing as the affect of loosing a fin has impacted the remaining fins and the second one (of 3) has a large crack.

James is back in school taking Chemistry. He had been on the wait list until Sunday but a last minute drop out allowed him in the class.

Kingston's numbers are very good - only 9 active cases.

I was in meetings all day, typical of a Monday.
