Clara

Clara and her daughter rolled into town ready to do the move in tomorrow. So much fun to see her again. We went to the Mandarin. I had never been to such a busy buffet. It was pretty fun. Then we went back to campus to look at where the classes would be.

I'll meet with them again tomorrow after they have moved in. Move in is always pretty hairy!

calculation

Yesterday was a full day of work. I picked up lunch from the Small Batch cafe as I knew it would sustain me during the afternoon and evening. sadly, the cafe is closing at the end of this week.

After work a bunch of us from Rustle took a road trip to Celebrate Recovery in Roblin. CR is a Bible based program to create a safe space for people to work on their problems. We think that this is a good program for Rustle so we are working on learning about setting it up. We think that it will be a good way for people to grow. The first time that a person does CR they do a class called 101 which is an introduction. I did that last night and though it was an introduction it was a pretty intense sharing time.

On the drive home we watched the lightning show of the storm that seemed to be north of us. Poor James arrived home from hockey when the downpour hit and he was soaked just coming from the car to the house.

After I got home I watched the Bachelor show and that took some time, then just as I was about to go to bed, I realized that I had made a calculation error in my bank account and I forgot there was an automatic payment coming out so at 2am I switched on the computer to shuffle things around. So hopefully that goes through before the payment comes out. We'll see at midnight, I guess.

I had today off because I worked on Sunday and will be working on the upcoming weekend. Clara is bringing her daughter on Friday and we are meeting up in the evening- looking forward to that. But can't believe we are old enough for this! Most of the first years will arrive on Saturday.

maxsold

The maxsold launched on Thursday and bids close on Saturday

if you want to check it out.

Yesterday was a great laundry drying day- a good lot of breeze so I got 3 loads done outside.

Today the weather turned against me as I got caught in a downpour on my way from Rustle into work. Luckily, I had planned for rain so I wore a dress that dried pretty quickly. I had a change of shoes at work so I wore the second pair home.

I tried to get some work done today to get ahead on the week and I did make some progress. However, there is still a very long list for tomorrow.

We are working on setting up a Celebrate Recovery program at Rustle and so are having a road trip to check out how another Church around Napanee runs theirs.

Just a few more days until the students arrive!

push and pull

Last week I visited my parents, then came back and had only a few hours to prepare to speak at Rustle. After that I had to get the maxsold done. So last night I stayed up until 2am to get it done. It will open tomorrow at 5pm. I went to bed at 2am but the night was super windy so I woke again at 5am and have been on the go since.

This week we are trying to wrap up our courses and things are sort of crumbling apart. Luckily, we still have a few weeks to put things back together. Students arrive in 10 days.

Today was enrollment day as I was hearing back from those who aren't attending and filling their places with people who need into courses from wait lists.

Tomorrow I need to get the hiring picture sorted out. Trying to prioritize everything that needs to get done.

On my walk in to work on Monday I saw a squirrel loose its footing about 3 stories up and come plummeting through the air to land right in front of me on the road. I felt like the squirrel yesterday as our plans for courses in Sept came unraveling and at some points I felt like crying. But like the squirrel, I will limp off and keep going and everything will come together somehow.

boys day

James' good friend Jonathan had his birthday celebration yesterday. James had a really good time. They watched a movie at the theatre, ate pizza and played games. James dropped his phone and the screen cracked, which he was sad about.

Today in the morning I talked to Brandon about Rustle issues. Then in the afternoon I worked on Maxsold preparations.

This evening, I have to do some house cleaning but at 8pm it is the finale of the Bachelorette!

enrollment week

This week was enrollment week. I enrolled a lot of students in courses that they were missing for some reason or another. Maybe they failed or they transferred but didn't have all the credits they needed, so a lot of schedules were completed last week. I have about a days worth to go.
Tuesday I have interviews all day but hopefully on Wednesday I can wrap the enrollment mostly up. There is one course that I have about 25 people to add but only 13 seats so that one likely won't be done until more space opens up.

Today I did grocery shopping in the morning and cleaned out one kitchen cupboard.

I am making a tossed pasta pot in the slow cooker now to use up leftovers.

My goal for the weekend is to get everything ready for a maxsold. Hope to take pictures later this week.
