No lottery or tobacco

 

There was a long line in Giant Tiger and a cash opened that was for people with no lottery or tobacco. I was at the back of the line so I waited for others ahead of me to go. Noone moved. The cashier called again so I went. And the cashier is like, everyone is getting lottery or tobacco except this lady? I waved to the crowd. And quickly made my way out of the store.

For this special day I had 9.5 hours of zoom meetings. I finished all the tax receipts for Rustle and they will be in the mail tomorrow.

Tomorrow is to be an in person day so it will be more tiring.

In the middle of a blizzard

 On Saturday I walked 1/2 hour in blizzard conditions. Cars all had their hazzards on and you could not see many car lengths ahead. But then suddenly the blizzard let up and I was in the sunshine with storms all around me. Not the easiest pedestrian walk!

I woke up at 5am because it was so light outside. Turns out it was a snow squall.

Being in person

 

It was weird and tiring being in person again. And especially odd that everyone thought we should be ok with it.

The return

 

Tomorrow is the first day back to work in 2022. There are so many things to remember to bring in with me. And then I have to figure out how to interact with people again.

I thought this was pretty funny. Flies are attracted to a lot of things.

I did a lot of work on the weekend as I had to review all the academic integrity cases and then get the work prepared for this week. The Feedback fruits set up didn't work for me so I'll have to wait for the Teaching and Learning team to help me during the week.

flash freeze

 We sorted out the financial discrepancies as it was all about tax and where the tax was being added in the report so that was good.

Yesterday was supposed to be a flash freeze but turned out to be a very nice day so I did a couple of walks.

Just about to watch Rustle then have to deal with some Academic integrity issues and get everything ready for week 6.

 Rustle has a financial committee meeting upcoming and being in charge of getting the documents for them has been more of  challenge as there seem to be mysteries. Have a meeting with the bookkeeper tomorrow before work.

There was a nationwide prayer meeting tonight that was really good

snow showers

 Apparently we are currently experiencing "snow showers" not just snow!

In the morning it was a bit icy but Princess St. was well salted.

Midterms are starting so that is increasing the stress levels!

 In the neighbourhood the parking lot of the Y is full. So the lessening of covid restrictions has helped them.

The construction is still continuing. I thought winter stopped construction but evidently not.

Students are starting to return even though classes are only in person starting feb 28.
