Lizzie

Thursday night was a lot of fun at "Blood Relations" that was an interpretation of the Lizzie Borden story. The most fun was when the axe was raised, Paula (beside me in the audience) jumped about 5 feet in the air. The cast loved the reaction, though the set went dark before the axe actually came down. They can't kill a cast member each show. It was really interesting how they had used the known facts to try to weave the story together.

Friday I went to 2 services- Kim's church and then home for only enough time to eat before heading to Next's service. They were both good!

Today I went to Loblaws at 9am. It was a zoo! They hadn't finished updating the prices from the old flyer to the new flyer so along with the volume of people there was a lot of confusion about prices. They also were not able to keep up with the demand for milk as the baskets that the bags normally are in were empty.

Merlin

I'm in my super packed weeks of day and nights. Past Monday was TA training and a board meeting. Tuesday we had interviews until 9:30pm. Today was parent/teacher interviews. Tomorrow is Anne-Marie's play about Lizzie Borden. Friday there is a Good Friday service at 2pm and 7pm. Sat is Christine's birthday party. Sunday we have a baptism service. Monday we have late interviews. So very active!

Yesterday a coworker said he saw a Merlin near Mack St.. He played me the call from a website. When I was walking down Mack today, the Merlin flew over me!

St. Patricks

St. Patrick's is celebrated as a holiday in the student district
Before the holiday there was a post in a Queens site that seemed to indicate that there were different factions against each other
But I think the "rule of law" just wants to make sure that people are safe.
There are not many signs of the holiday in my area. No rule of law either.

This happens in many university towns. This is what Brock campus security posted:

I went to Loblaws around 9am and they had bread baked so i picked up one which (with cheese) will manage my breakfast/lunch and dinner.
Cleaned the bathroom, did some laundry now need to move onto other rooms to clean.

small batch cafe

Today worked on timetabling and the first year schedule for next year is mostly done (no rooms though, just times). Better than my poor brother who may never have a timetable. lol.

They made me leave at lunchtime so I went downtown and found some nice boots for $20. I will post a picture later. My old boots suffered a broken zipper so it was a good time to replace. I have bought a few pairs of footwear in the last few months as some other ones also reached their expiry! (winter boots, shoes)

I stopped at the small batch cafe and picked up some lunch. It was a breakfast bacon sandwich which turned out to be mainly a large egg patty. It was quite good, just not what I expected!

minimalist

Yesterday I only ate bread and cheese. Went to Loblaws and washed dishes and did laundry. Had an afternoon nap.
Got up early this morning (earlier because of the time change!) and when the alarm went I realized that one of the sounds in my dream was actually a bird in my backyard!
Kingscourt was doing a 24 hour prayer thing so I went over. I had aimed to go for 8:30 but I got there just after 9 and it ended at 9:30 so I wasn't there for as long as I had hoped. At 9:30 I headed to Rustle as I was doing the hosting and needed to prepare some details - finish the powerpoint of songs, etc.
Came home and had another nap, so a leisurely weekend. Gearing up for a 12 hour day tomorrow!

4am

Today my alarm was set for 5am but I woke at 4am. The boys were on the bus by 6:30am and to Moncton at 6pm so a 12 hour day. James slept for a lot of it.

Long day at work per usual- setting up for interview season though we haven't finished the summer hiring which is not good. It is better to complete one then the next. I have also been working on our April showcase planning.

Stranded in the median

As I was walking home from Loblaws around 9pm there weren't many people around but as I got past the bus station, I noticed there was a guy on the median near the lights. As I got closer I saw that he had a seeing eye dog and didn't seem to be particularly happy to be in the median. I called out to him to ask if he needed help and he said yes, he was trying to get to the bus station. I had reached him at that point and let him know he was in the median. He was surprised and said "I was in the median, no wonder I was confused". I helped him on the right path and made sure he was heading for the bus terminal and I walked to the lights. Though there was noone in sight during the whole interaction as I crossed Bath a person crossing the other way said "That was so nice what you did". It was odd as I didn't think anyone had seen the interaction but also it wasn't really anything special as I would think anyone would do the same.

Timetabling week

This week was timetabling week. On top of that there were lots of  course things to deal with and summer hiring. Plus I was down with a cold for a few days. So it was a challenging week.

Today woke up to snow. The streets were pretty icy. During the day things got better but there evening things got worse and they had to close the 401 in our area.
