snow cleanup

Today things started to clean up. I didn't have a lot of hope for the chef's plate because of the situation in Toronto where it needed to be packed. It didn't arrive so I made a chilli with leftovers, so that worked out. Hopefully the sidewalks are cleared tomorrow so I can run some errands.

lots of snow

There certainly was a lot of snow. A few neighbour's ventured out to do some shoveling but there were no cars going on the road. Even the buses stopped running for a while. A few hours ago the street got plowed.

This was funny as not much has changed:

snowmaggedon 22

Supposed to be snowy tomorrow. We'll see how much.

Today did some shopping, watched Rustle and Elevation. Did some work. Need to clean the house!

competition

The competition was pretty fun but tight for time. Hopefully the students had fun.

It was very cold on the walk to Rustle but I kept well bundled up. There is some ice on the inside of my laundry room!

disagreeable

On Wed night made mini turkey bites and something didn't agree with me. I wasn't sick at all but I had pain. There was nothing usual in the meal so I'm not sure what that was all about. It took about 12 hours to clear my system.

Yesterday I didn't eat much but today I was back to normal and made cheeseburger pasta- it was good!

Tomorrow I am judging an engineering competition and I have a meeting at Rustle so will need to juggle it all.

frozen solid

It was a cold night and very cold out so I didn't want to go outside.

The chef's plate was frozen solid so I made the veggie meal- black bean tamale casserole that had biscuits on top. It was good.

Day 2 getting through!

freezing rain

Yesterday I went out in the so called freezing rain but it was just warm enough that it was easy enough to grip in regular winter boots. Today the temperature had dropped and was much icier especially when there was a light covering of snow overtop.

Today was day 1 of the winter term. There were some challenges indeed but made it through. Tomorrow making a training video. Temperature is dropping so not sure about going out too much.

fuzzy

It was -19 this morning when I went out in my new fleece lined pants. Not cold at all.

Picked up more warm socks at Giant Tiger.

Still working on finishing up the fall term and starting the winter term.

hibernation

Didn't go out again today but did manage to get through a lot of work. I got the some grades out and worked though the grade adjustments for another course. Tomorrow I have to notify students who failed, which is never fun.

I also need to tackle email, making up timetables for J-section and making sure everything is ready for the Winter term courses to begin on Monday.

I am however going to go to bed before 1am, which is a good thing!

inside day

Today I didn't get outside at all, which was disappointing but I got through a lot of work which was encouraging. Tomorrow I have a presentation to do and I'll be trying to finish wrapping up the Fall term.

expiry

I had one plan today to email the Faculty Advisors but with all the meetings and regular crises these emails got delayed until the evening and then I did get tired by 1:30am so I expired myself and will need to write the rest of them tomorrow. Luckily I now have a template so they should go faster in the morning.

even later

Today did a lot of Mod 1 review and posting of grades. Worked even later. My arm is stiff from the work. I did walk to food basics in the morning to pick up spicy steak for the boy. He's a big fan despite everything else he eats being bland.

The other day when it was snowy I saw a tow truck pulling one of the sanding dump truck that was still FULL of sand. That must have been a heavy tow.

Today was the first day that an amazon package arrived in Glenburnie in the morning (4am) and wasn't delivered that day. Either they have more packages than normal or less drivers than normal.

Tomorrow have to sort out a bunch of things for mod 3 as well as more mod 1 review.

A long day back

A long day but I got through a lot. Went to Canadian Tire first thing as James needed windshield wiper fluid.

Lots of email and sorting things out to get things in place for the course. Then the afternoon we did course reviews. Then got project allocations out in the evening and that caused a bit of an explosion of email. Got through it all for 1:15am. Have an early meeting tomorrow though.

Day 1

The first day of 2022 was an ok start to the year. I did some reading, writing, dishes, laundry and walking as well as getting some work done. Made chicken for dinner. James went walking with friends. His ear is improving. Tomorrow I need to finalize the project teams. This should have been posted 30 days ago!

Appears to be snowing.

shoes

My boots with cleats (or without cleats) were making my feet raw- either because I hadn't worn them in a long time or because their padding is wearing out. So I switched to shoes. In December! To allow my feet to heal.

I went to Loblaws in the morning as James was having some ear pain and the telephone doctor thought it might be sinuses. Negative covid test, so not that! I picked up some of the medicine that the doctor recommended.

Worked during the day to finish the fall review. Will have a meeting with Brian on Monday to finalize everything.

Made messy beef naanwiches for dinner. Brownies for dessert as requested by James.

Watched the Praise party at elevation.

Happy new year!
