 Out at Kim's place, I was trying to rescue frogs from a deep hole that they couldn't jump out of. And what was Kim doing? Taking a photo:

A long Monday

 After staying up late on Sunday night, we had 4 hours of exams and 2 hours of training sessions. So left the house around 7am and was back around 8pm. I did have a lunch from freshii-rice noodles with carrots, tomatoes, corn and peanut sauce so that was good.

I have to deal with a garage door and some wasps during the rest of the week.

Toolboxes

 Our long awaited toolboxes arrived. They had such difficulty getting across the border but they finally arrived and we managed to hand out about half of them. So this is all very positive.

I also caught up on a lot of email today. Tomorrow I need to onboard the graders, drop the no shows and get everything ready for week 3!

The support workers for colleges are on strike so James was late to his class today because he was stopped by picketers.

Some long days this week dealing with enrollment and course issues.

James went to Hamilton at 6:30pm for a tournament today. At the time he left the chef's plate box had not arrived. I then forgot about it, finally found it at 9pm!

moving in

 On Friday, I thought biking to work would be a challenge as it was early move in day but there were no issues at all with my biking.

On Saturday I thought it might be difficult to bike around town as it was the main move in day but again I experiences no difficulties.

Tomorrow classes begin so I may cease biking as there are too many people to dodge! Our class starts at 8:30am and I still need to get some things printed so I'll be heading in early.

The longest day to end the long week

 Sorted out the groups with Project Managers. Still have documents to finish before Tuesday. Also still have some enrollment to do.

It was still raining this morning but when I biked it, it was mostly over. We had Project Manager training this morning and are well on the way to launch on Tuesday.

The greedy tomatoes must be happy!

 There is lots of pouring rain so I didn't have to pour liters of water on the tomatoes.

James was out watching a soccer game in the rain.

This week is a weary one as we push towards next weeks launch!

Bad dogwood changes

I felt like I was setting the box wood free as the dogwood had been growing over it. We'll see if it makes a come back!

I thought with all the rain the other day the tomatoes would not need much attention but they looked sad again last night so I dumped a lot of water on them and they perked up within a few hours. Will need to remember to water them daily.
 

rained all night

 I think it rained all night but then was clear in the morning and I had a cheque to drop off at Rustle so I decided to stop at No Frills on the way. It is supposed to be the cheaper sister to Loblaws but many things were the same price. There were a few things that were cheaper. The stick bread was about half the price and much better than Loblaws.

It doesn't look like a 350 top, but there you go.

I had hoped to make all the course groups today but I only ended up getting them set up. Tomorrow will be group making day.

Demonstrative plants

 My 2 tomato plants look visibly sad if I forget to water them but perk up pretty quickly when I do. I have received 1 tomato from them so far. It was very good.

There are 3 dogwood bushes in the backyard, 2 look fine but one looks bad. The bad one had some dead areas even before the drought, should I cut it back now?

Rebound

 This morning James was up at 5am so I also was up at 5pm. He had to make a hockey schedule.

I went into work and worked for 8 hours and then felt like I was going to fall asleep so I went home and made dinner. Then I was going to take a nap but I somehow rebounded and am running on adrenaline I think. 

James' laptop broke and he needed a new one so I ordered it from best buy and they delivered it to the porch and they left it on the porch, which was ok because I noticed that it was listed as delivered so I could call and make sure James got it because there was no notification or anything. But it all worked out.

The pom poms have fallen

 The one downpour of rain in our desert land caused all my pom pom flowers to fall over.

I saw a teeny tiny mini bunny hop across the lawn, so very cute.

My tomatoes are still growing, We'll see if I get any or if the wildlife will get them all.

For the bike route I am having to avoid union st, I have been going in early so traffic is pretty quiet. Brock st. biking is nice now that it is resurfaced!

Hoping to hang 2 loads of laundry out tomorrow before I go to work.

Have been up at 4am and 5am the last 2 mornings so pretty tired tonight!

Temu interest

 For the Temu parcel that I received that was supposed to have a spring and they sent me a make up box that seemed to be the same thing. Looking more carefully at the make up box, while it looks like the pieces are the same, the box is different. The first box said it could hold up to 16kg. The new box says it can hold up to 18kg.

From Temu I also purchased a (cheap) book called "The Bible in a Year- a 52 Week Journey Through God's Word". Now when I purchased it I thought it would be one where you read the whole Bible in a year, but it is actually 52 weeks of themes with scriptures. So not the whole Bible but a scripture to think about each day. Wasn't what I expected but it works. Interestingly, there is no indication of who wrote all the theme text.

All the grass is dead but Kim gave me 2 tomato plants to keep alive and so far that is going successfully.

For dinner tonight I made mashed potatoes and pepper ground beef on the request of James. He needed to go to Napanee tonight but the 401 is a mess so he is currently driving an alternate route.

3am

 Last night around 3 am I heard some metal clanking outside. So I checked at the window and the sound seemed to come from the neighbours backyard. But then their backyard light switched off, so it must have been the neighbours but I have no idea what they were doing and why at 3am!

Tomorrow the grocery stores nearby say they are open regular hours so I hope to get some shopping done.

Fledging

 The baby birds I think were spooked by a squirrel and fledged this morning. I can hear them in the trees and the parents were busy tending to them all day. This will be their first night out of the nest. Hope they do ok.

I took my first bike rise on the new Brock St. Very nice and smooth.

Most of the day was focused on hiring and course planning. Ready for a good sleep tonight!
