squirrel and biker explosion

This morning there were squirrels all over my lawn running around. Some went into the garage so I had to evict them. I am not sure if there was a squirrel convention that I was not invited to!

When walking home from Food basics there was also a biker parade. It lasted from when I walked from Sir John A to Bath along Princess so I was glad I hadn't wanted to cross the road at that time.

James worked from 7am to 11pm yesterday and was out the door at 8am today to work in Napanee.

I bought him new pillows yesterday as his old ones were rather flat!

Not a good quality picture as I was walking

interviews

This week has been a week of interviews. Trying to keep on top of all my other work while doing interviews as well.

James' team had a championship game today but lost.

Trying to work on getting him a new passport.

Also working on our charitable tax form. The bookeeper had been working on getting someone to audit but said he wasn't able to get someone at a good price so suggested that I also look so that is a new task added.

Manure and Lilacs

I spent a week away at an Ellel retreat on Wolfe Lake. A beautiful place and beautiful people. There was no wifi, cell service or TV in the center. I did a course on emotional honesty which involved video teaching, activities and people supporting to pray with you. The food was amazing. Overall a wonderful experience even though I did some challenging work. Some days were cold but most days we could get out and have some fresh air as well. As it was out in the country when you walked you could alternately smell manure and lilacs and I thought that seemed like a good way to describe the week.

Spring is in the air!

I didn't need to wear my winter coat today!

Had a nice walk to Giant Tiger for cookies for James and Food Basics for some sales. Could smell flowers on the way.

Hung a load of laundry out.

There are some people on our street who have signs that say "No mow May" to let lawn grow wild for the benefit of pollinators. The neighbour mowed today so did not follow no mow May. My front lawn is already pretty wild with lots of dandelions so I don't think it will be possible to do "No mow May" and still be able to get my mower through at the end so I may mow today as well.

James came home yesterday and dramatically said that he no longer had a car. He explained that he gave his keys and wallet to LeeAnne for safe keeping in her purse but she went home before him and so Ryan had to give him a ride home. He reclaimed his car today!

moving

Lots of people moving today. Some of my summer students started today. One of them was also trying to move but the other people had not moved out properly and the property management people were having to clean it out.

Also, trying to move out marks to the students as quickly as possible!

weary

It was a long week and before work today I went to Loblaws and could feel the weariness.

I had to manage a lot of email and posted some grades and then got all the showcase grades into the system.

I didn't get much sleep this week so am hoping to catch up on the weekend. Taxes tomorrow!

Spring

Weather was beautiful today. I still wore a winter dress but no coat. Breaking in my summer shoes back in.

Lots of sirens out. A loud party. Planning to hang laundry tomorrow!

tights

Yesterday I was wearing thermal tights, today normal tights. Spring is on the way!

I didn't have enough time for breakfast this morning as I had to wash the dishes.

Today I worked on showcase set up.

James and I worked on his courses in the evening.

Dinner was turkey chow mein noodles. Very quick and tasty!

Bacon BLT salad

Today's dinner was Bacon BLT salad. It was easy and very good. I wasn't sure I would be ok with ranch dressing but it was all very good. Only the bacon and croutons needed to be cooked so it was a pretty simple meal. I finished the marking guide and dealing with all the financials. I had my e-group tonight. Then sorted out a deposit for Rustle. Tomorrow is the funeral for Amanda Armstrong. I would like to go to support Billy but I didn't really know Amanda. I just have so much to do in April that it would be difficult to take the evening off. A very beautiful day out!

Another round by the racoon

Found my green bin pushed over. Looks like it didn't open. The neighbour's same as last time is scattered all over the driveway. Not sure why the racoon has more success with the neighbour than me!

Spring jacket

On Sunday I switched from boots to shoes. Today I leveled up to a spring jacket. Things are improving. Still need to get the Winter tires off the car. A busy day today reviewing peer reviews, surveys and writing a marking guide for the last assignment. Campus was pretty quiet!

Spring-y

When I walked into work this morning (in my winter coat) it felt like spring.

Work this week has been mainly trying to manage the email.

Dinner today was caramelized chicken- James agreed to try it but did not like the chicken. He was happy with the rice though.

Let's just push over all the green bins in the neighbourhood

I was downstairs talking to James and we heard a bang in the driveway. The neighbour's green bin had been tipped and a racoon was happily sitting there munching away. The racoon did not care a whit about me! I went to check our green bin and it had also been tipped but the racoon was unlucky and it did not open. I was lucky. He clearly has a strategy.

James drove to Napanee today for some coaching. Luckily made it back before the fog rolled in.

last week of class

We are finally at the last week of classes. The students had their final project due tonight. We had our final training sessions. The Project Managers gave me a lovely card with heartfelt messages.

Yesterday when walking to Rustle there was a man who was walking a large black dog with curly hair. It got away from him and was playfully bounding across the street, playing a very dangerous game with its owners. People stopped their cars to get out to help. It was very nice to see. The dog survived thanks to nice people.

Red sky in morning

There was a brilliant red sky this morning in preparation for the incoming storm. I did some shopping in the morning and by the time I had finished spiky snow was falling from the sky. After I think it became snow and now is rain.

James is not feeling well today. He has a fever of 102.1 and has been sleeping all day and not eating.
